Cookie Dough Pop tart Brownies

IMG_2740[1]

Instead of calling this recipe Cookie Dough Poptart Brownies, I should seriously just call them my apology to bikini season … or indulgence… but darrrrrrrrn delicious.

Technically, we could start working on our swimsuit bodies after a tray a brownies … riiiiiiggghhht?!?

IMG_2753[1]

And also, long weekend.

This weekend, in true Victoria Day Long Weekend fashion there will be a flood of food – and trust me, this little lady aint mad at all!!

Can we also talk about something only semi-random … strawberries.

I want all of them. In my face. On cake. With yogurt. You name it, gimmmmmmmaaaayyy. I know this recipe is far from having anything to do with strawberries… buuuuuttt long weekend – summer – strawberries … logic?

Maybe not.

IMG_2757[1]

Flur De Sel Nutella Brownies

I’ve made a couple brownies in my time … all 20-something years of it. But nothing compares to this recipe.

IMG_2065

  • 2 kinds of chocolate chips
  • Nutella …. Pretty much made out of angel dust
  • Flur de sel …. Pretty much angel dust.

IMG_2090

I was lucky enough to get a personalized bottle of Nutella for Christmas last year – can I just say, how freaking well do my friends know me?!?! and also … Nutella! With my name on it! that screams hands off, doesn’t it?!

IMG_2086

I knew I wanted to do something special with this little gift – I wanted to keep it simple but make sure it was indulgent and blow-your-mind-delicious. Verdict: we have a winner!!

IMG_2087IMG_2094IMG_2096IMG_2099

I also want to defend these brownies beforehand … yes, they’re fudgey – yes, they’re gooey – yes, the flur de sel shines – yes, they’re hella delicious… and no, it’s not quite bikini season yet.

Fudgy Chocolate Chip Brownies

IMG_9236

Very important question – your brownies; do you like them more cake-like or fudge like?

Frosted?

Jam packed with other goodies?

Nuts? … who am I kidding hold the nuts.

IMG_9187

I seem to have a habit of fussing up my brownies on the blog – but sometimes a girl just has a hankering for some daaaaarrrnn tootin good fudgy brownies!!

So I made some.

And true to my nature, I couldn’t just make regular brownies, I needed them obviously to have a bit of a spin.

Coconut oil.

Ahhhhh these are probably the closest brownies to fudge, without actually eating fudge.

Rice Krispy S’more Brownies

IMG_3273

I need these brownies today — this weekend, I had a bit of a crisis … I set out to do my usual kitchen shenanigans and right in the middle of swimming in delicious baking …I ran out of flour.

FLOUR.

How is that even possible?!!? In my kitchen, there are 5 things I never run out of :

  1. Butter
  2. Sugar
  3. Flour
  4. Eggs
  5. Wine

For the love of all that is delicious – WHO RUNS OUT OF FLOUR?!? So instead of being practical and going to buy some … I just drank wine.

IMG_3226

Hence the brownies. Sweet Week , Monday saving trashed up brownies.

But not just any everyday-joe-schmoe brownies … these brownies are straight up craaaaazzzyy. Nutso. Not just filled with fudgy-goodness – but stuffed with rice krispy squares and then toasted, gooey marshmallows. Welcome to the crazy-train.

Chooo-choooo!!
